Bee A Star!

In “Makin Larvae”, The Audience Is The Star!

What's This About?

We are always grateful that folks join us for our comedy presentation…but actually, MAKIN LARVAE …a honey bee love story is really just an opportunity to speak to a more important theme…

Honey Bee Conservation

Honey Bees and other pollinators, play an important role in human food consumption. It is said, that 30% of our total food supply is directly impacted by them. With the recent decline in bee populations, even today, we feel its effect at the grocery store…in the form of higher prices. You might ask; what can *I do about it?

Well, more than you might imagine.

At each of our shows, we leave a package of bee-safe, non-coated seeds on each person’s seat. We encourage you to plant these in your garden. show your children or your little brothers and sisters how to do it. When you become a Bee Ranger you become a modern day Johnny Appleseed.

So spread the seeds. Spread the word and we Bee Rangers will make conservationists out of hometown America.

What People Are Saying

Hilarious! I could watch again and again.

Excellent! That was Awesome. Knocked it out of the park!

I thought I knew how important Honey Bees were before I saw this show, but there’s a lot out there to learn and understand.

It was wonderful… very creative, I enjoyed it a great deal.

Delightful and charming, with a great message.

Magnificent! Very Interactive. The kids loved it! Really drew them in. Songs were relevant and everyone had a way to be involved.

It’s fun, interactive, and full of laughs for all. Kids were giggling, songs were engaging, and getting our staff ‘bought in’ from the start playing roles made it 15x more fun because they saw their favorite counselors dressed up and acting goofy. Great Show!

A lot of FUN! Perfect culmination of humor for the whole family — adults and kids! Music was great. Everyone sang and joined in. Excellent.

Honey Bee Love

Well Hi de ho Humans. We’d like to share a story with you about another world…the world of your neighbors …that’s us! …the Honey Bees. We have so many interesting things to tell you.

Why…did you know, that even though there are hundreds of us in the hive, we can smell if someone doesn’t belong there? That’s right. They just don’t smell right. I hear there are humans at the gym like that too. We provide you with honey, pollinate flowers fruits n vegetables. Truly humans partners in food production.

We invite you to engage us as we present a tale of teenage love, and all the drama that goes with it… MAKIN LARVAE…a honey bee love story.

Polly: The future queen. She’s a child… she’s a woman…she’s a teenager…she’s a mess

Wally: Polly’s love interest. He’s a pollen jockey with a heart of gold…you know that unique one in brown & yellow

Buzz: Wally’s buddy. A blue-bottle house fly… would be casanova, who ‘loves him some honey’…but can’t seem to get any romance.

Nurse Hatchet: The queens attendant. She’s the killer of love…. the Rasputin of romance …the demon of would-be debutants

Aunt Bee: She can make the larvae in no time… she can run a beehive bet-ter than a man…why? ‘cause she’s a woman! w-o-m-a-n b-e-e!

Miles It Takes For One Pound Of Honey

  • Up until World War 1, Honey was still used as an antiseptic.
  • Eating locally produced Honey will help immunize against local pollen, reducing allergic reactions.
  • Honey is the only food that can completely sustain life. Not only does it have enzymes, minerals, vitamins, and water, but it’s the only food that has pinocembrin, an antioxidant that improves brain functioning.
  • A Bee’s sesame seed-sized brain can comprehend immense calculations involving travel distances and foraging capacity.
  • Bees can control the temperatures of their hives by gathering tightly together and vibrating their wings to warm up, or spread out and fan their wings to cool down.
