Our non-profit organization is TRICOM~ educational interactive comedy. Our Honey Bee Conservation Program, and its educational 30 minute sketch comedy, Makin’ Larvae…A Honey Bee Love Story.
We believe our honey bee conservation program aligns with the goal of providing creative leadership in problem solving and addressing real world issues.
In an age when honey producing bees are disappearing at an alarming rate, today more than ever, we must educate and agriculturally prepare consumers to face the world of tomorrow. Finding a way for citizens to impact the global, high dollar industry associated with honey bees, is a daunting task. Scientists, companies and regulatory policy seem be at odds over the cause and future decisions on issues facing these partners in food production. It’s no wonder many consumers feel almost powerless. Tricom believes we can move past this indecision by making proactive bee conservationists, out of hometown America.
TRICOM’s Makin Larvae presentation, blends hilarious characters and bee conservation, all while allowing audiences to learn as they play. This one-of-a-kind comedy experience opens a unique dialog on horticulture, agronomy, entomology, and bee preservation. Truly a learning event, that will have families talking for years to come. TRICOM~ educational interactive comedy completes its purpose, by allowing communities to join forces to preserve honey producing bees in North America, with a simple action step
We end each show explaining how planting flowers and food crops at home, is an elemental start in bee conservation. Then leave our guests a package of bee-safe seeds to plant in their garden to start the process. We have secured a bee-safe non-coated seed company to provide this seed for distribution.
Imagine if hometowns all across America practiced this sort of bee conservation using this simple step available to us all. Thus far, TRICOM’s has invested four years in the honey bee conservation program project.
We have engaged university research experts, commercial bee keepers, grant writers, and conducted formal general population surveys. We have employed set design artists. Invested in lighting and sound infrastructure, costume designers, script and stage directors. Hired professional actors, professional photographers, video specialists and professional voice-over editors. Plus signage companies and seed companies.
We have had several successful pilot runs, including performances at commercial theatres, special-event halls and city events in our home state of Florida.
TRICOM~ educational interactive comedy is looking to provide this program, at a subsidized cost, to hands-on museums, park districts, educational facilities, special events and county and national parks. This is a true conservation opportunity to change the way we look at honey bees and their contribution to our collective food supply.
